Q: What is FSAok?
A: FSAok is a unique new consumer service designed to help you
get the most from your FSA account. When you register,
participating stores will look for your pharmacy and over-the-
counter purchases that may qualify for reimbursement under your
employer's plan, and transmit them privately and securely to your FSAok automated claims account. When you confirm your purchases, we’ll transmit a claim instantly to your TPA.
Q: Is it free? What's the catch?
A: Our expense tracking, claims preparation and claims submission services are free and supported from advertising, participating employers, and employment benefits administrators, who reduce their manual paperwork costs when you participate.
Q: Does my employer or employment benefits administrator have to participate?
A: No. FSAok is a service provided to consumers to help you track and claim reimbursement for your healthcare purchases. But make sure to mention FSAok to your employer’s HR department, because if they participate, we are able to enhance service to you!
Q: How secure is this website?
A: Very. We meet and exceed industry standards. We use encryption on web pages that ask for or display your personal information. Look for the familiar "padlock" symbol in the lower right corner of your browser to confirm that you’re on our secure site.
Q: Do you process other expenses for me besides pharmacy and OTC medicine information?
A: No. You should continue to process qualifying items like doctor's bills the way you currently do.
Q: Do I still need to keep my paper receipts?
A: Yes. To automate use of your FSA account, we can prepare (and send to your FSA benefits administrator) an FSA claim form and a copy of the receipt information from the participating retailer where you made your purchase, but you need to hold on to your receipts. Ultimately, you are the responsible for keeping the documentation showing that you incurred eligible expenses.
Q: What happens if I shop at a non-FSAok store?
A: You will have to submit claims the old-fashioned way. So you should shop at FSAok participating stores whenever you can!
FSA ACCOUNTS AND FSA DEBIT CARDS
Q: What is an FSA account?
A: A health Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is an employment benefit offered by your employer that allows you to spend some of your pre-tax income on healthcare expenses so you save money on taxes. If you do not have one, talk to your benefits administrator. Or, you may qualify for a Health Savings Account (HSA) that you may be able to get on your own.
Q: I have an HRA. Will FSAok work for me?
A: Yes. FSAok can prepare and even submit claims to your employment benefits administrator for your Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).
Q: I have an HSA. Will FSAok work for me?
A: Yes. A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a self-administered account, so you probably won’t have to submit claims. But FSAok can track your healthcare purchases at participating stores, and you can print reports that will make it easy to support withdrawals from your HSA account.
Q: I have an FSA Debit card to make my FSA-eligible purchases. Do I need FSAok too?
A: FSAok was designed to make your life easier. FSA Debit cards (some HRA accounts have them as well) give you immediate access to the funds in your FSA account, but most FSA Debit users receive a request for receipts in about one out of three uses. Sometimes and for some purchases an FSA Debit card can’t even be used. FSAok can automate the FSA claim for those purchases to make them easier.
Q: I used the FSA Debit card my employer gave me, and now my FSA benefit administrator is going to shut-off my card if I don’t send them the receipt. Can you help me?
A: Maybe. If you used your FSA Debit card at an FSAok-participating retailer, we may be able to get the receipt for you. Try registering your FSA Debit card at www.fsaok.com. If the receipt is not available to us, try registering other cards that you shop with regularly. We may be able to find other eligible purchases that you made.
REGISTRATION AND AUTHENTICATION
Q: What is FSAok Registration?
A: This is how you link your FSA account plus any credit, debit or frequent shopper cards to your FSAok account, so that we can collect your receipts from participating retailers to display your potentially FSA-eligible purchases for you.
Q: What is Authentication?
A: This is how we check that you are the person who uses the registered payment and frequent shopper cards. We will ask you a few questions about recent activity on the cards you want to link to your account -- questions that only you, the person who shops with those cards, should know the answers to. We do this to protect your privacy.
Q: What happens if I lose my credit or debit cards?
A: First, cancel your card with your card issuer, to make sure it is not misused. Then, when you get your new card, register it with FSAok just as you would any new card. The purchases made with your old card will still remain accessible and eligible in your FSAok account under the old card number, and your new transactions will be available under the new number.
SUBMITTING A CLAIM
Q: How do I submit a claim?
A: Once you log on, go to the “My Claims” tab, approve the transactions you want to submit for, and follow instructions there. The process is quick and easy.
Q: Can I print a copy of my claim?
A: Yes.
Q: Can FSAok send a claim to my FSA benefits administrator automatically?
A: Yes, we will do that for you automatically when you select that option. But keep in mind that each administrator has different rules for claims submission, and may require additional information from you. This is another good reason to keep your receipts.
Q: Can I print and mail or fax the FSA claim myself?
A: Yes, just choose that option.
Q: How can I check the status of a claim I have submitted?
A: Log on and check your claim history under the “My Claims” tab so see when the claim was sent. Then call your FSA administrator (usually an 800 number located on your FSA benefits statement or claim form). They usually acknowledge and process all of your claims within 30 days (most will do so more quickly).
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Q: What should I do if my reimbursement check does not arrive when it is supposed to?
A: Reimbursements come from your FSA benefits administrator. You can call them (usually an 800 number located on your FSA benefits statement or claim form) to check the status of your reimbursement.
Q: Can I re-submit a claim?
A: Yes. If your FSA benefits administrator cannot locate the claim, just log into your account and select History under the “Purchases” tab. You can re-print or re-fax a claim from there. Your TPA will automatically match the transactions to make sure they don't reimburse you twice for the same transactions.
Q: Can I call FSAok?
A: As a free service we are not set up to handle incoming calls. Make sure to check with your FSA benefits Administrator for issues regarding your submitted and paid claims. If you need further assistance please email your question or comment from the Contact section of this website.
